If working with children is what makes a person happy, then the ideal position could possibly be working in a daycare center, as a grade school teacher, or even in a nursery. Why trouble and add unnecessary stresses to the body by taking a job that will make you unhappy? Many times, this situation occurs because the car salesman job was available and the dream job was not; this is especially true in our existing economy.
Maybe research is your niche. There are several careers that require an individual to have exceptional research skills. There are secretarial jobs, several online jobs, and even project manager jobs. Any one of these positions would be fulfilling to an individual that enjoys extensive research.
Secretarial Jobs
This career path could be rewarding for any individual that enjoys a fast-paced environment. Regardless of the size or style of the company, a secretary serves as a sort of backbone for the office. He or she is completely responsible for all of the records (note taking, filing, client contact information, and even client interaction) the company utilizes now, will use tomorrow, and even those that were used previously. The secretary is the individual all members of the office could call on at any given moment of the day for information.
Many times a secretarial job requires the ability to research information effectively and quickly. For example, if the president of the organization needed information on possible new offices for sale, the secretary would be asked to compile a list of different locations for sale (including square footage, price, the person to contact, a number at which to contact them, etc.).
Additionally the secretarial job requires the individual to be prompt in responding to correspondence as required by the president. The secretary must, of course, also be courteous and approachable. Depending on the office, there may be some light telephone work, but typically, there is a specific individual for this.
Project Manager Jobs
The project manager job is another backbone position. This individual is solely responsible for both the success and failure, if relatively, of the project. Typically, the project manager just oversees and ensures the completion of the project. This position contains a heavy leadership role.
So if the individual is ensuring the completion of the project, is the project manager a leader or a monitor? A good project manager is both. If the project manager does his or her job correctly, the people that were hired to do the labor will only need to monitored. A good project manager will not be selfish or lazy. Nor will he or she be proud or greedy. The project manager must effectively communicate with the team on the project and must be approachable and empathetic. The project manager is responsible for planning the project (drawing up the plans, doing background checks, and creating a careful plan of action to carry out the success of the project).
Online Jobs
Online positions often require extreme amounts of research. First of all, the individual needs to decide what the desired online job is: there are several to choose from. Deciding what the strongest skill set is can be a little tough if you have not thought about it in detail. The possibilities for online jobs are nearly endless: freelance writing, copywriting, Web site design, remote secretarial services, etc.
Once you have chosen a focus on a desired industry, it is imperative to take time finding the right company. Online jobs have gotten a bad reputation for being scams. In some cases, this is true. However, there are valid online jobs. Individuals are encouraged to research the company before moving forward with employment. A reputable company will not harass an individual into working for them.
Online jobs actually have three stages of research: finding the ideal match for a certain skill set, researching the company itself, and then completing the required research to fulfill the job.
Ideally an online job would be a great fit for a stay-at-home mom or dad who is seeking a challenging position for a little extra income.
Any one of the three positions: the secretarial job, project manager job, or online job would be an ideal fit for an individual who enjoys a challenging experience and doing research. If a job that requires a strong amount of leadership sounds tempting, then the project manager job is perfect. The secretarial job is better for the individual that prefers to be on a middle ground; there is responsibility with a little freedom, but stability. The online job has total freedom. All of them require research ability.
